About
be community
Hi there!
I'm Becca (she/hers) - nice to meet you.
I'm so happy you made it over here so that I can tell you about the vision behind this space, and a little about myself.
A few (random) facts about myself:
I am a Canadian-German who has been living in Munich, Germany since 2017.
I have a degree in Applied Sciences, with a major in Human Nutrition.
I worked as Registered Dietitian in Canada at a children's hospital before moving to Germany.
I'm a hobby triathlete, having completed 8 triathlons (and more planned).
After practicing pilates privately for 8 years, I decided to get my pilates trainer license with the Akademie für Sport und Gesundheit in November 2023.
I must have some British genes as there's nothing as satisfying as an afternoon tea with (oat)milk.

Community building and connection has always been in my nature:
In my mid-twenties, I discovered for the first time something that had already been there the whole time: building communities and connecting people gave me a huge sense of fulfilment.
As silly as it sounds, it was a complete revelation for me and suddenly many memories made sense: I loved to help my mother host guests at our house as a child and I thrived off of being the trip and activities organiser in my friend group. Throughout high school after-school hangouts where hosted at my place, and it's exciting for me to connect friends from different groups or parts of my life.

This later translated into a career for me and I have been lucky enough to be employed with companies in the field of community building, connecting and event planning for the past 6 years.

However, I also wanted to found something that was my own. Where I could write the rules, do what makes me happy, plant a seed, and watch it grow. I've always wanted to be the one to create a space where everyone felt welcome, and then step back and watch the magic happen.

My vision for this community:

I hope this can be a space for you to feel welcome, for you to connect not only with yourself through classes, workshops and events, but perhaps connect with 1 or 2 other cool people in the process. I very much look forward to meeting you.

Inclusion is incredibly important to me - hence why I wanted to be able to create my own guidelines for this community. I strongly believe everyone has an incredible story to share and has been through various challenges in their lives. That's why I always ask members of this space to approach others with compassion and curiosity.
Have a look at our community guidelines to learn more.

What do we offer? A community built on 3 pillars:

What does be community even do? What do they offer? Well, our offering is a combination of things that make me happy (and hopefully you as well), excite me, mean a lot to me, and topics in which I have accumulated knowledge and experience in over the years. Here's a breakdown of the different types of classes, workshops and events you can expect to see:
be strong (launched): Get a little (or a lot) sweaty in these full body sessions, all while increasing your strength, working on stability and having FUN. These 45-minute mat-classes are based off of classic pilates, with a modern twist. That means we will use your body weight and movement to strengthen those deep muscles that work so hard to support the rest of your body, every day. Similar to building a house: the foundation should be strong to support everything else around it.

be creative (coming soon!): Special workshops designed to allow you to play with and explore creativity.

be generous (coming soon!): Because giving back to those who are most in need is what everyone should practice in one way or another. A portion of the ticket sales from these events will go to a charity of be community's choice.

See you soon
Welcome to this space! I hope to meet you in person soon. If you have any concerns, questions, suggestions - please drop me a message on our contact page.
